Its been a year or so that i never blogged anymore, but you know, life's been busy and all that.. well not really actually. So today i decided to pick 8 songs to be on the mixtape that happens to be my 4th.

THIS WEEKS TOP ARTIST (22/07/11)

So sorry for not posting for a long time, been busy.. not! :p Anyway here's my top artists of this week, please give a standing applause to My Bloody Valentine for their "When You Sleep" and not forgetting Memoryhouse for making a deadly gorgeous remix for it! I either could stay all day long in my room or flying anywhere with that song played again and again and again... Lovely.

THIS WEEKS TOP ARTIST (10/06/11)

It is Friday and it is time to post my Top Artists of the week :D
There was a time when i listened to various contrast genres and you can look at my picture up there. The first and the second bands is Wild Nothing, Beach Fossils, and Craft Spells, which happen to be in the same label - Captured Tracks - and slightly had the same sounds. Listening to their songs a LOT these past 2 weeks, even makes Beach Fossils as my number 9 in my overall Top Artist on LastFm. Pretty cool, huh? Make sure you check Daydream by Beach Fossils. That's the keytrack :p
Oh and today i listened to Rusko's Hold On featuring Amber Coffman. It has both chillin' and dancing mood on it :D
And an underline should be given to Digital Ivy - he got 2 new tunes: the Ghosts of Paraguay's "One Lost Love (Digital Ivy remix)" and his own dubstep "Lost in Time":

THIS WEEKS TOP ARTIST (06/05/11)

Hello everyone! I know it's sounds cliché but i do miss you guys! Haven't post since March 31st , hhh, my bad.. But I'm back :)
Still doing my Top Artist post (well i hope you don't mind) as my theme for Fridays. I listened much to Télépopmusik lately, i know it's very late but i love their song called Anyway. And the same goes up to Lusine, i loooved their song "Twilight" indeed! Others are, well, you know, Netsky :D I always put his song on a maximum volume with headphones up. By the way, he did a 30-minutes mix for Urban Nerd's 4th birthday! You can even download it for free!

DRUM&BASSARENA : EVOLUTION

Like my previous post on Javabass wordpress blog, i will definitely post this album to my blog. I mean, how can i don't give a damn about this mind blowing album?! 2 CDs and 40 tracks are enough to make your body can't stop moving :p
The Drum&BassArena will going to release their latest compilation album called Drum&BassArena: Evolution. I told ya, this album is BIG! D&BA has launched it's mini-site, where you can hear the clips of tunes, tracklistings, TV advert, and interviews with artists such as Jubei, Wilkinson, Prototypes, and Rockwell. Not to mention their giving away FREE MINIMIX which you can download from this site! I wanna tell you the full tracklists, but why don't you diggin' for yourself? :)

This album is going to be release on 3rd April in digital download and on the 4th April in CDs. Can't freakin' wait!

STROKES' ANGLES RELEASED TODAY!

It's March 22nd (and March 23rd in some regions) and The Strokes' Angles released today! And I'm wearing my magna gold Strokes shirt to celebraaaaate! (Umm, sorry for that crowded background of me :p). And yeterday i saw SPIN magazine tweeted about The Strokes that are going to be on their April issue. Looking forward to that! And here is their behind the scenes photoshoot.

LTJ BUKEM AT POTATOHEAD JAKARTA

Was an usual friday afternoon after work when i saw someones tweeted about this: LTJ Bukem gonna play in Jakarta! Whattahell, i know i am so coming! LTJ Bukem is, a legend. He plays the best of liquid atmospheric drum'n'bass tunes of all time (if you wanna hear one of his best tune, click here), and last Friday i am one of the witness of his greatness. This Bukem-in-Session gig was held at Potatohead Jakarta by Ashram Project, and there also playing Random and Jerome from Javabass. And this is the photo taken from Javabass blog.

THE STROKES VIDEO DEBUT: UNDER COVER OF DARKNESS

Yesterday is definitely a big day for Strokes' fans all over the world, 'just' because they at last perform again on a fvcking video clip! Yes baby, it's Under Cover of Darkness i'm talking about! After thousand tweets about this world premiere about the video debut, and a reblogging "party" on Tumblr, i landed on their website and here it is:

THE STROKES ARE BACK!

Finally The Strokes are back! Every internet-freaks (or should i say these indie hipster kids) have talk about this big breaks. After changing their websites layout, giving their first single "Under Cover of Darkness" as a free download --which is a must-download for indie and/or garage fans--, now they're on this weeks (15/02/11) NME cover!



Like the magazine NME said:

The Strokes have tentatively named their forthcoming fourth album 'Angles', which is expected to be released in the UK on March 21. The record's lead single is likely to be named 'Under Cover Of Darkness'. The band gave the album information to Rolling Stone magazine, also revealing further song titles 'Taken For A Fool', 'Life Is Simple', 'Machu Picchu', 'Radio Minor Madness' and 'Call Me Back'. Guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. explained the album title by saying: "It's what the record sounds like. It comes from five different people." 'Life Is Simple' is the only song that survived from sessions the band recorded with producer Joe Chiccarelli before deciding to record in Hammond Jr's own studio, taking on production duties themselves. The new record will be their first since 2006's 'First Impressions Of Earth'.

The album itself will be release on March 22nd under the title "Angles", so for those of you who had been waiting for this,

do not sleep!

THIS WEEKS TOP ARTIST (01/10/10)

There are 2.. wait, 3 songs highlighted this week, and there are Suede's Picnic by the Motorway, Lenzman bootleg DNB remix of Alicia Keys' Unthinkable, and KOAN Sound's Happy People. That songs just made my day, seriously. On Monday and Tuesday, i listened Suede on repeat. On Wednesday and Thursday, i listened to Lenzman. Also KOAN Sounds made me happy on Thursday. Today, i mostly listened to Matryoshka, a shoegaze-IDM band from Japan which vocals really smooth.. as silk, believe me. You can all go download their songs here on their LastFm page (most of them are free download, thank God). The others are Netsky, Blur, and The Smiths, as usual :]
To be honest, i really wanna show you these songs, how they'd sound, and i'm in a dilemma which song should i put here. So lets just see.. lets put those which has a Soundcloud:

THIS WEEKS TOP ARTIST (24/09/10)

Listening much of Med School's More Blood 010 album. Specially i like the "Glitchbitch" by Royalston and "Frost" by Stray. Nice sounds! You can hear the tune here. Also much listening to Chase & Status, i love their eastern-mixed-with western sounds of Eastern Jam. Oh and also i loooooooove Lenzman feat Riya's Open Page! Lovely.

THIS WEEKS TOP ARTIST (17/09/10)

Not much reviews today, but i love love love the Drum&BassArena Anthology Minimix! Haven't got the full album yet, so i think i've to be happy with the minimix. The album itself contains of 3 CDs with LOADS of massive drum n bass tunes from the early days until now. And when i say masive, i really mean it. Check out the album microsite here. There you can listen and download the minimix. The forum says:

THIS WEEKS TOP ARTIST (03/09/10)

Hello there! It's Friday already and it means one thing: my Top Artist of the week :p

Much listening to Netsky again this week, well let me remind you it's only 10 freakin' weeks before i'm gonna meet him in Paradise in Bali!! Anyway, i heard lots of London Elektricity's remix of Niji, a song by Japanese band called Nirgilis. You should check out that tune (too bad i don't have the links so i cannot attach the player here). Also bigups to an Indonesian drum'n'bass band called DLR, has a very beautiful jazzy-chillin'-dnb sound, you can hear them here. And oh yeah, Underworld's Born Slippy also hypnotized me again, just because i heard that old song in the Oasis' Live Forever documentary the week before. Wicked.

Another weekend, so its time to the Top Artist, wooow it's freakin' fast! Heard Netsky as usual, plus Camo & Krooked helped me through the deadline and stuff :p Also there are Blur, Mew, Joy Division, and Digital Ivy. But hey, there's Anya Marina there! Actually i never realized that she has a very beautiful voice until i heard her song "Satellite Heart", which happen to be one of the Twilight Saga soundtrack. You should check her out!

Digital Ivy is my boyfriend's project. Started in 2005, playing and experimenting with trip hop and ambient sounds. As the years pass by the genre was growing from IDM to shoegaze, and lately 2010 a mixture of drum and bass/dub. Sometimes the lines between genre's are blurred, but that is how Digital Ivy is.

THIS WEEKS TOP ARTIST (20/08/10)

Sorry for not posting my top artist for about, mmm, maybe 3 weeks? Been busy and sometimes laziness attack.. :p Anyway, here is my fave artist this week, most of them are bands, including probably my fave artist, The Postal Service. They easily became #1 this week, apparently because i can't stop listening to their remix of John Lennon's Grow Old With Me. You decide which one better, the original or the remix one. I love the remixed version more, in fact it became one of my fave song of all time. Listen here for the remix, pay attention to the lyrics:

And i love listening to Mew's Beautiful Balloons. This track reminds me of Silversun Pickups, no? Explosions In The Sky is what i also heard recently, thanks to Johnny my boy for this post-rock sounds :) Also, i have lot listening to Katie Melua's cover of Just Like Heaven - probably because i've heard it the earlier on one of that Fringe soundtrack... and I also have The xx, Team Sleep, The Cure, and Copeland as my playlist this week.

Oh before i forgot, Hospital Podcast 119 and 120 is out last week, and thanks to Tony aka London Elektricity for reading my shout again! :D (although he called me with Gladys instead of Dhany.. maybe that's because my screenname is 'gadisradio' hehe)
